   I was vert sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. van der Slikke. Not well known is the fact he was the founder of the first website devoted to obstetrics and gynecology in The Netherlands and then went on to be the first Medical Director of the first online community of obstetricians and gynecologists, http://www.obgyn.net (1996). In addition I would like to add he was a talented gardener, connoisseur of wine, and possessed a wonderful dry wit and sense of humor. He was devoted to his wife Dorinne and daughter Julie. I remember he had me bring Julie a copy of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” CD when it became available in the USA before its release in Europe. He and his wife were gracious hosts and she even took me on one trip to see the tulips of the Kukenhof. He is gone too soon. He was of all the people I’ve known in my life the epitome of the Renaissance man.
